Dubai Sat 2

DubaiSat-2 is the second satellite to be successfully designed, built and launched by EIAST. As with DubaiSat-1, DubaiSat-2 is fully owned by EIAST, which highlights the ongoing inroads that the UAE is making into the field of space technology leadership. The development of the earth observation satellite also marks the first time that the UAE has actually owned the IP for space technology, a further national landmark. Work was begun following the successful completion of DubaiSat-1 in July 2009, and DubaiSat-2 was successfully launched on November 21, 2013 and is currently in a 600km sun-synchronous orbit.
